Steven Holl was born in Philadelphia in 1951 and studied at the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University. Since then his work has been exhibited in many cities around the world. He is also a Professor of Architecture and Design at the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently working on a project for the National Museum of American History, which will tell the story of American metallurgy from prehistory to modern times through an interactive exhibition that will explore three themes: the work of architects, designers, and artists; metalworking, including mining, smelting, rolling, stamping, forging, casting, rolling, stamping, forging, forming, machining; and metalworking technology.
